God's heart is not made of stone. His is the most sensitive and tender of all. A cup of cold water is is enough to put tears in the eyes of God. "God thirsts to be thirsted after." -st. augustine
Richard Foster is one of the few authors who writes good stuff for Christians. And, I thank God that his writing skills are so good that the message is easy to understand and it fits my reading comprehension level. Currently, a book called PRAYER by Foster is on my coffee table. Grasping the content and living it out in real life is like watching a baby learn to walk. I often trip, fall, or end up back on my bum.
In my small group at church this semester we have been studying the book of Colossians. One thing that I learned through studying this book is how to pray for other Christians. Take a look at the first chapter in it is a picture of how Paul prayed for those he loved. He says be thankful for their faith and changed lives. Ask God to help them know his will. Ask God to give them spiritual wisdom and understanding. Ask God to help them live to honor and please him. Ask God to give them more knowledge of himself. Ask God to give them strength for endurance and patience. Ask God to fill them with joy and thankfulness.......
whew. How many people in your life could be touched if you were praying in this way?
