a request on 3/8/08 from a church in sd:
todd and zoe are missionaries in Sudan. they have been found beaten. they have four children. three of the children are in school in Kenya. the other is is college here in the states.
We need to pray for their healing, because evidently this was a very bad beating. Also, their oldest child is a freshman at college in Columbia, MO. The Women On Mission Group at First Baptist St. Charles has adopted her. They called her yesterday to make sure she was ok. She is doing fine. The 3 other kids are in Kenya, but I don't think they are in the same place their parents are. Pray for this family.
Here is an update3/12/08:
Evidently, they saw a mob coming for them, and locked themselves in their apartment. There were other people there with them, but not their children. The mob broke into the apartment and someone in the group that was there, escaped and went to the police. The mob severely beat todd and zoe, then took them to the police. They wanted them executed. Somehow, because someone had already notified the police, the UN was called, and todd and zoe are now safely in the custody of the UN. (They said UN, but I'm thinking they may have meant the US Embassy.) They are now in Nairobi, Kenya, and safe.
